Team Osprey MCAA/MAROS Welcome Aboard Reception
On May 11, Team Osprey hosted the Welcome Aboard Reception for the 2018 Marine Corps Aviation Association (MCAA) Symposium and Marine Aviation Readiness and Operations Summit (MAROS). The event was held at the Asteria Terrace at the Hyatt Aventine in San Diego. It was a great success, with approximately 100 guests total. We were proud to host the Deputy Commandant for Aviation (DC/A), LtGen “Stick” Rudder; PMA-275 Program Manager, Col “Squirt” Kelly, as well as several key V-22 leaders from the Fleet Marine Force and Headquarters, Marine Corps. Team Osprey members from Bell, Boeing, Rolls Royce, and Raytheon were in attendance.
MAWTS-1 40th Anniversary
On May 20 and 21st, Team Osprey was proud to be a platinum sponsor for the 40th Anniversary Celebration for Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1). MAWTS-1 is the premier aviation training and doctrine organization in the Marine Corps, training aviators and aircrew from all types of Marine aircraft in advanced tactics and instructional techniques. It is also a key player in the development of Marine aviation tactics and doctrine, as well as a testing ground for new technology.
Team Osprey members from Bell, Boeing, and Rolls Royce attended several receptions, events, and panel discussions over the two days. This included a talk from former Secretary of the Navy John Lehman. Several key aviation leaders were in attendance as well, including the Deputy Commandant for Aviation LtGen “Stick” Rudder and former DC/A LtGen (ret) “Dog” Davis. Attendees also got to see MAWTS-1’s change of command ceremony from Col “Baja” Wellons to Col “KG” Galman. Additionally Team Osprey members were able to attend the change of command for Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1) from Col Rowell to Col McArdle. VMX-1 is the squadron charged with conducting operational testing on all new aircraft and aviation equipment.
